About

Drawing is part of my life, not just hobby.

This is the page for the illustrator and comic artist Dana Orkideh, from Sweden with Iranian heritage, searching and striving for her art and her future comics.

Born 1984, she grew up in Gothenburg where she still lives today and her main focus is historical and political drawings of forgotten women.

She has been active markerartist for a long time, self-taught, but especially since 2014. She has had occasional exhibitions, but most famous for being one of the exhibitors at Ortens Art Festival 2017 and has been intervied by the author and poet Louise Halvardsson on her life-time project about historically forgotten women's rights at Göteborgs Posten. In addition to illustrating the women's portraits, Dana has worked on drawing comics, mostly on Iran, and Dana has also made her first fanzine about Syria's modern history: "Syria - The Rage and Uprising, Part 1". though for many reasons, Dana has laid her Syria series hiatus.

Instead, she's aiming to become a proffessional Graphic Designer, therefore she's currently in Ireland, studying Graphic Design which will take three years.
